The present invention relates to a real-time high-definition imaging system comprising a rotary-wing aerial drone (10) that is remote-controlled by means of a control device (12), the drone (10) being provided with at least one high-definition image sensor, and a signal processing module for processing the signals from the sensors to produce an image stream and real-time transmission means for transmitting the image stream in real time to a fixed station (20), characterised in that a. the real-time transmission means consist of an optical fibre (21) wound on a reel (20), b. the reel is a fixed reel (20) that is attached to the drone (10) with its axis oriented vertically, an output of the optical fibre (21) is directed downward when the aerial drone (10) is in the horizontal position, c. the optical fibre (21) is coated with an adhesive substance in order to prevent the optical fibre from unwinding prematurely, d. one of the ends of the optical fibre (21) is coupled to the signal processing module of the drone by an optical connector (22) and the other end is coupled to an optical connector (23) of a processing module of the fixed station (20).
