An inner liner for a tyre, or a polymer composition comprising halogenated butyl rubber, comprising a microcrystalline talc particulate having a BET specific surface area no less than about 35 m2/g and at least one of: (a) a d50, by Sedigraph, no greater than about 2.0 µm; (b) a d50, by laser, no greater than about 5.0 µm; and (c) an aspect ratio from about 50 to about 100.
