The present disclosure refers to a display assembly for mounting to a vehicle, comprising: at least one housing (130), at least partly accommodating at least one camera system (220), configured to capture at least one field of view (330a, 330b) around the vehicle, at least one illumination system (210), adapted to project at least one light beam (320a, 320b) along at least one light path, and at least one first sheet (250), positioned within the light path; wherein the light beam creates a visual impression on the first sheet (250), the camera system (220) is adapted to capture the field of view at least partly through the first sheet (250), and the first sheet (250) is adapted to display the visual impression in 3D, in particular comprising a hologram, wherein the visual impression is generated due to diffraction of the light beam on the first sheet (250).
