To manufacture a winding configured to prevent a terminal end part of a metal wire from damaging other components and the like by making the distance from a welded part to a terminal edge as short as possible without increasing the number of manufacturing steps, and to prevent manufacturing defective windings. The winding is a porous winding (a filter 10) formed by winding at least one continuous metal wire 20 in a helical and multilayered manner. In the winding, a terminal end part 30 (a metal wire portion 20n) of the metal wire is resistance spot welded to another portion (a metal wire portion 20m) of the metal wire and is fusion-cut at the welded portion. The terminal end part 30 (the metal wire portion 20n) has a fused solidified part 31n where entirety of the metal wire in a width direction has been solidified after being fused.
