A Hold Down Release Mechanism, HDRM, interface (100) for attachment of a first spacecraft (3) to an adjacent structure of a launch vehicle (1) or a second spacecraft (54), wherein the HDRM interface (100) is configured for forming part of a single-point or multi-point releasable attachment of the first spacecraft (3) to said adjacent structure. The HDRM interface (100) comprises a first connector part (101) and a second connector part (102), wherein one of the first and second connector parts (101, 102) is configured to be fastened to said adjacent structure, and the other of the first and second connector parts (101, 102) is configured to be fastened to the first spacecraft (3). The first connector part (101) has a tapered projection (19) and the second connector part (102) has a matching formed tapered recess (20) configured for receiving the tapered projection (19), for enabling load transfer between the first and second connector parts (101, 102) when the tapered projection (19) is located in the tapered recess (20) and the first and second connector parts (101, 102) are pressed together. A dry solid lubricant (301) has been applied on a surface of the tapered projection (19) and/or on a surface of the tapered recess (20).
