The invention relates to a vehicle tire composition comprising: 100 phr of a rubber component; and 50 to 160 phr silica obtained from rice husk ash, wherein the silica has a potassium content of less than or equal to 300 ppm based on the silica and as measured by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy as described in the Examples, and wherein the silica has a weak coefficient of less than or equal to 20 as measured by laser light scattering as described in the Examples. It also relates to methods for their preparation; to vehicle tires made from these compositions; to methods of selecting a rice husk ash silica for inclusion in a tire compound; and to the use of rice husk ash silica in vehicle tire compositions.
