The unmanned aerial vehicle (1) comprises first control means for controlling the flight of said vehicle (1), a load-carrying means (6), movable about at least two axes (F, F1), at least one means (7) for identifying and monitoring an animal and at least one intervention device (10) for intervening on an animal associated with a second control means, said intervention device being designed to send (P) a contact-based intervention means to the animal. Said identification and monitoring means (7) and said intervention device (10) are secured, during travel, with the load-carrying means (6). The first and second control means, controlling the flight of the vehicle (1) and the intervention device (10) respectively, are separate. The invention also concerns a method for using such a vehicle (1).
