A collapsible terminal 100 for a road barrier comprises first and second sheets of material interlocking at a plurality of points 118a-c and shaped to form at least one collapsible cell 102a-d. The at least one collapsible cell is arranged along a longitudinal axis 103 of the terminal and is at least partly defined by one or more of the plurality of interlocking points. The first and second sheets of material rotate with respect to one another about at least one of the interlocking points under impact from a vehicle such that the at least one collapsible cell deforms to absorb energy of the impact. The interlocking points may be arranged along the longitudinal axis of the terminal. The sheets of material may comprise at least one slot to define the interlocking points. A collapsible terminal assembly comprises a plurality of terminals connected end to end. A barrier assembly comprises at least one collapsible terminal, a rail and at least one post.
