The invention belongs to the field of traffic, and particularly discloses a free-running transportation traffic operation mode, which comprises a transportation network operation platform formed by connecting a constant-speed belt, a transfer belt and a variable-speed belt, and an operation mode of combining tracks in the same direction, synchronously and seamlessly connecting transition sections, corresponding to the transition sections in two directions and getting on and off passengers in all directions. The passengers can freely move in all directions in the distribution area of the conveying network; according to the invention, the urban traffic is divided into no-vehicle areas without obstruction, more parking spaces can be coordinated to facilitate personalized travel, a convenient switching channel is provided, the problems of urban traffic congestion, excessive energy consumption, air pollution and the like are effectively solved, resources and energy are comprehensively saved, traffic resources share public attributes of harmless traffic, and the traffic efficiency is improved. The safety of urban traffic life and travel without traction is better manifested, and the method is extremely convenient and rapid in timeliness.
