Vehicle system having autonomous driving sensor (e.g. radar, lidar, camera, GPS, for driverless operation) to detect target vehicle location (vehicle to vehicle communication), communication device for receiving information pertaining to highway / local infrastructure (e.g. stop sign location, state of traffic light, speed limit information, map data, road curvature / grade / slope), and processing device to control operation of at least one vehicle subsystem (e.g. pre-charging / applying a braking / suspension / steering / powertrain / audible / haptic driver warning system) accordingly. Target vehicle kinematic data (e.g. speed, deceleration, steering angle) may also be received and used to influence subsystem control. Infrastructure information may indicate whether a vehicle is permitted to enter an intersection. A method of use and computer readable medium containing programming code are also included.
