A bearing assembly 1 for installation in a through-hole 10 in a composite material 8, the bearing assembly comprising a first bush 2a and a second bush 2b, each of the first and second bushes 2a, 2b having a flange 6a, 6b. The first and second bushes 2a, 2b are held together such that, in use, when the bearing assembly 1 is installed in the through-hole 10 with the flanges 6a, 6b of the first and second bushes 2 on opposite sides of the material 8 the flanges 6a, 6b limit the axial movement of the bushes 2a, 2b relative to the through-hole 10. The bearing assembly 1 may also include an annular sleeve 18 which has a spherical bearing 20 mounted therein, and two inner bushes 22a, 22b mounted within the spherical bearing 20, at either end of the through-hole 10 and concentric with it.
