A flying vehicle 1 comprises a first rotor assembly 19 and a second rotor assembly 21 spaced apart and aligned parallel to a longitudinal axis of the vehicle. The first rotor assembly can tilt to transition between vertical and horizontal thrust configurations. The second rotor assembly is mounted to the vehicle by a pylon (31, Figure 2) and comprises a plurality of stacked vertical thrust rotors (29) arranged substantially on the same side of the pylon. The first and second assemblies may constitute an assembly pair, the vehicle comprising multiple assembly pairs mounted on the wings. The second rotor assembly may provide thrust while the first rotor assembly is transitioning between configurations. The stacked vertical thrust rotors may be substantially above the pylon and driven by the same propulsion unit. The vertical thrust rotors may be separated by less than the mean aerodynamic blade chord length of the vertical rotors.
