PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate a remaining lifetime in another use of an on-vehicle battery with high accuracy by using a parameter different from an internal resistance and an actual discharge capacity.SOLUTION: A remaining lifetime estimation method of estimating a remaining lifetime in another use of a battery that has been used as an on-vehicle battery and is reused as other than on-vehicle use is provided. The remaining lifetime estimation method includes: a first step of acquiring a current temperature rise rate Xr of the on-vehicle battery; a second step of estimating a current temperature rise rate Yr of the battery in the other use from the temperature rise rate Xr, on the basis of the fact that a temperature rise rate to expiration of the lifetime of the on-vehicle battery and that to expiration of the lifetime of the battery in the other uses are proportional; and a third step of estimating the remaining lifetime of the battery in the other use by using the temperature rise rate Yr.

    【課題】内部抵抗、実放電容量とは異なる別のパラメータを用いて、車載バッテリの他の用途での余寿命を精度よく推定することを目的とする。【解決手段】車載バッテリとして使用されたバッテリであって、車載以外の他の用途に再利用される前記バッテリの前記他の用途での余寿命を推定する余寿命推定方法であって、前記車載バッテリの現在の温度上昇率Xrを取得する第1のステップと、前記車載バッテリの寿命に至るまでの温度上昇率と、前記他の用途のバッテリの寿命に至るまでの温度上昇率とが比例関係にあることに基づき、前記温度上昇率Xrから前記他の用途のバッテリの現在の温度上昇率Yrを推定する第2のステップと、前記温度上昇率Yrを用いて、前記他の用途のバッテリの余寿命を推定する第3のステップと、を有することを特徴とする余寿命推定方法。【選択図】図2
