PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inter-vehicle communication apparatus capable of implementing appropriate running regulation among vehicles.SOLUTION: An inter-vehicle communication apparatus 1 comprises optical devices 2a, 2b which are mounted on vehicles VE1, VE2 respectively and comprise an infrared light emission unit 21 and an infrared light receiving unit 22. When the vehicles VE1, VE2 are close to each other, the optical devices 2a, 2b of the vehicles VE1, VE2 communicate with each other. Through communication among vehicles, it is determined that a vehicle having the largest number of communication partner vehicles is a master vehicle. A vehicle includes a master-slave determination unit 31 for determining whether or not the vehicle is the master vehicle, on the basis of data on the number of communication partner vehicles, received from other vehicles and the number of communication partner vehicles of the vehicle. A vehicle includes a communication order arrangement unit 33 for setting order of communicating with the master vehicle, when shifting to a slave vehicle in the case that it is determined that the vehicle is not the master vehicle. A vehicle includes a running regulation instruction unit 35 for forming a running message to a slave vehicle when the vehicle is the master vehicle. Running messages are transmitted to slave vehicles according to their communication order to perform running regulation on the slave vehicles.

    【課題】車両間における適正な走行規制が実現できる車両間通信装置の提供。【解決手段】車両間通信装置1は、各車両VE1、VE2にそれぞれ搭載され、赤外線の発光部21および受光部22を備えた光学デバイス2a、2bを備えている。車両VE1、VE2同士が接近すると、車両VE1、VE2の光学デバイス2a、2bが互いに通信を行う。車両間の通信によって、最も通信台数が多い車両がマスター車両となる。マスタースレーブ判定部31は、他車両から受信した通信台数データおよび自車両の通信台数に基づき自車両がマスター車両であるか否かを判定する。マスター車両ではない車両はスレーブ車両となり、その通信順位割当部33がマスター車両との間の通信順位を設定する。マスター車両の走行規制指示部35は、スレーブ車両に対する走行メッセージを形成する。走行メッセージは、通信順位に従ってスレーブ車両に対して送信され、その走行規制が行われる。【選択図】図1
