PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welded vehicle body frame which can be made light in weight.SOLUTION: A vehicle body frame includes a first member 35 and a second member 39. The first member 35 has a prescribed wall thickness t, and includes a first plane part 44 wider than the wall thickness t, and the second member 39 includes a second plane part 45 in contact with the first plane part 44. The second member 39 is joined to the first member 35 by bringing the second plane part 45 into contact with the first plane part 44 and then by welding the contact portion by laser beams 48 and 48 in parallel with the first plane part 44. As a result, a welded area is made greatly large compared to conventional fillet welding, so that the vehicle body frame can be made light in weight, by performing welding by irradiating laser beams from a direction in parallel with the plane, while bringing the first member and the second member into contact with each other at the planes and thus reducing a gap between the two members to enable laser welding.

    【課題】軽量化が図れる溶接製車体フレームを提供することを課題とする。【解決手段】車体フレームは、第1部材35と第2部材39とを含み、第1部材35は、所定の肉厚tからなり、この肉厚tより幅広の第1平面部44を備え、第2部材39は、第1平面部44に当接する第2平面部45を備え、第1平面部44に第2平面部45を当接した上で、第1平面部44に平行なレーザビーム48、48により溶接することで、第1部材35に第2部材39が接合されている【効果】第1部材と第2部材とを平面で当接することで2部材の隙間を小さくしてレーザ溶接を可能としつつ、平面に平行な方向からレーザビームを照射して溶接することで、従来の隅肉溶接に比較して溶接面積を格段に大きくすることができ、車体フレームの軽量化が図れる。【選択図】図4
