PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method not requiring many steps in a process of septumizing a honeycomb core used in a sound-absorbing sandwich structure.SOLUTION: A composite acoustic liner 32 has a cellular core 34 in which individual composite septa 46 are formed. The septa 46 are installed in the core 34 as individual polygonal cells 42 are being formed. An elongate female tool member and an elongate male tool member having a conical tool cavity are used to both form the cells of the core 34 and locate the septa 46 within the cells 42. The septa 46 and the cellular core 34 are co-cured by applying both heat and pressure for compression.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
