PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new traffic signal controller capable of performing a variety of signal controls in response to a pedestrian's crossing request for a lighting lamp for pedestrians, in control of traffic signals at an intersection where there are lighting lamps for vehicles and lighting lamps for pedestrians.SOLUTION: A main control unit 30 determines, from among lighting lamp control units 40, a lighting lamp control unit 40 to which a next command signal is output to output the command signal, on the basis of whether a pedestrian's crossing request is placed and the lighting lamp control unit 40 to which a command signal has been output previously. Each of the lighting lamp control units 40 controls the display of a signal lamp to be controlled, in accordance with a sequence of display lamp colors that is determined by stored sequential display control data 422, when a command signal is input from the main control unit 30. In other words, after the command signal is input, the lighting lamp control unit 40 spontaneously controls the display of the signal lamp to be controlled, in accordance with the stored sequence of the display lamp colors.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】車両用灯器と歩行者用灯器とがある交差点の交通信号の制御において、歩行者用灯器に対する歩行者の進行要求に応じて、多様な信号制御を可能とする新たな交通信号制御装置を実現すること。【解決手段】主制御部30は、各灯器制御ユニット40の中から、歩行者の進行要求の有無、及び、従前に指令信号を出力した灯器制御ユニット40に基づいて、次に指令信号を出力する灯器制御ユニット40を決定して指令信号を出力する。灯器制御ユニット40それぞれは、主制御部30から指令信号が入力された場合に、記憶しているシークエンス表示制御データ422に定められる表示灯色のシークエンスに従って、制御対象灯器を表示制御する。すなわち、指令信号が入力された後は、灯器制御ユニット40は、記憶している表示灯色のシークエンスに従って、制御対象灯器の表示制御を自発的に行う。【選択図】図3
