PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a travel environment recognition system capable of correctly recognizing a vehicle travel environment.SOLUTION: A travel environment recognition system comprises: a database for accumulating past image features in which, a position of each vehicle, and an image feature of an image obtained by imaging the surrounding of each vehicle at the position, are associated; a lack detection part for collating the first feature of the image obtained on the vehicle at the position, and the second feature which is acquired from the past image features, for detecting a lack position of the first feature; a complementary information creation part for creating complementary information corresponding to the lack position by using the second feature; a complementary part for complementing the first feature by using the complementary information; and an image recognition part for recognizing a vehicle travel environment based on the complemented first feature.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】車両の走行環境を正しく認識することができる走行環境認識システムを提供する。【解決手段】走行環境認識システムは、各車両の位置と、その位置で各車両の周辺が撮影されることによって得られる画像の画像特徴とが対応づけられた、過去の画像特徴を蓄積するデータベースと、その位置の車両で得られる画像の第1特徴と、過去の画像特徴のうちから取得された第2特徴とを照合することによって、第1特徴の欠損箇所を検出する欠損検出部と、欠損箇所に対応する補完情報を第2特徴を用いて生成する補完情報生成部と、補完情報を用いて第1特徴を補完する補完部と、補完された第1特徴に基づいて車両の走行環境を認識する画像認識部とを備える。【選択図】図1
