PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for coating a fiber cord which is excellent in processability and exhibits moderate hardness, excellent tensile characteristics, and excellent adhesiveness after vulcanization, and to provide a pneumatic tire manufactured using the same.SOLUTION: The rubber composition for coating a fiber cord contains a diene rubber containing a natural rubber and/or an isoprene rubber, carbon black, and an acid-modified polyolefin. The content of the natural rubber and/or the isoprene rubber in the diene rubber is 50 mass% or more. The carbon black has a nitrogen adsorption specific surface area of 20-90 m/g. The acid-modified polyolefin has a melt mass flow rate of 100 g/10 min or more. The content of the carbon black is 30-70 pts.mass based on 100 pts.mass of the diene rubber. The content of the acid-modified polyolefin is 0.1-10 pts.mass based on 100 pts.mass of the diene rubber.SELECTED DRAWING: None
