PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic transducer which can improve anisotropy for directivity in comparison to a conventional constitution, and a vehicle sensor using the same.SOLUTION: A peripheral wall 22 is formed in such a shape that the dimension of an inner bottom surface 211 in the first direction is larger than the dimension of the inner bottom surface 211 in the second direction orthogonal to the first direction. A bottom plate 21 is provided with a pair of first recesses 41 formed along the second direction on both sides of a piezoelectric element 3 in the first direction of the inner bottom surface 211 and a pair of second recesses 42 formed along the first direction on both sides of the piezoelectric element 3 in the second direction of the inner bottom surface 211. Each dimension of the pair of first recesses 41 in the first direction is larger than the dimension of each of the pair of second recesses 42 in the second direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
