PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for coating a tire steel cord for maintaining and enhancing adhesiveness, rubber hardness and tensile breaking elongation while reducing heat generation property by blending carbon black having a specific colloidal property.SOLUTION: Carbon black having nitrogen adsorption specific surface area NSA of 90 m/g or less and compression DBP absorption amount (24M4) of 95 to 120 ml/100 g of 10 to 40 pts.mass and organic acid cobalt salt or organic cobalt complex of 0.01 to 0.50 pts.mass in terms of cobalt amount are blended with 100 pts.mass of a diene rubber containing a natural rubber of 80 mass% or more and a ratio of mode diameter Dst (nm) in a mass distribution curve of a Stokes diameter of an aggregate of the carbon black and half band width thereof ΔDst (nm), ΔDst/Dst is 0.65 or more and the NSA, (24M4) and Dst satisfy the following formula;(24M4)/Dst<0.0093×NSA-0.06.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】特定のコロイダル特性を有するカーボンブラックを配合して発熱性を低減しながら接着性、ゴム硬度および引張り破断伸びを維持・向上するようにしたタイヤスチールコード被覆用ゴム組成物を提供する。【解決手段】天然ゴムを80質量%以上含むジエン系ゴム100質量部に対し、窒素吸着比表面積N2SAが90m2/g以下、圧縮DBP吸収量(24M4)が95〜120ml/100gのカーボンブラックを10〜40質量部、有機酸コバルト塩または有機コバルト錯体をコバルト量で0.01〜0.50質量部配合すると共に、前記カーボンブラックの凝集体のストークス径の質量分布曲線におけるモード径Dst(nm)およびその半値幅ΔDst(nm)の比ΔDst/Dstが0.65以上であり、前記N2SA、(24M4)およびDstが次式;(24M4)/Dst<0.0093×N2SA−0.06を満たすことを特徴とする。【選択図】図2
