PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide more precise traffic information.SOLUTION: A travel path accessory detection device has a column area detection part, a code reading part, a distance estimation part and an output data generation part. The column area detection part detects a column area which is an area of a column part of an accessory on a travel path from an image picked up by an imaging part for imaging a vicinity of a travel path along which a vehicle travels on the basis of a pixel of the picked-up image. The code reading part reads a code composed of at least two kinds of densities given to the column area in the picked-up image to acquire code information binarizing the code. The distance estimation part estimates distance information indicating a distance from the vehicle to the accessory on the basis of the pixel of the picked-up image, a pixel of code information given to the column area in the picked-up image and an angular field of the imaging part. The output data generation part generates output data on the basis of accessory related information which is information related to the accessory indicated by the code information and the estimated distance information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5

    【課題】より高度な交通情報を提供すること。【解決手段】実施形態の走行路附属物検出装置は、柱領域検出部と、コード読取部と、距離推定部と、出力データ生成部と、を備えた。柱領域検出部は、車両が走行する走行路の周辺を撮像する撮像部で撮像された撮像画像から、撮像画像の画素に基づき、走行路の附属物の柱部分の領域である柱領域を検出する。コード読取部は、撮像画像における柱領域に付された少なくとも2種類の濃淡からなるコードを読み取り、コードを2値化したコード情報を得る。距離推定部は、撮像画像の画素と、撮像画像における柱領域に付されたコード情報の画素と、撮像部の画角と、に基づいて、車両から附属物までの距離を示す距離情報を推定する。出力データ生成部は、コード情報が示す、附属物に関する情報である附属物関連情報と、推定された距離情報とに基づいて、出力データを生成する。【選択図】図5
