PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve ride comfort of occupants, to say nothing of being able to avoid collision between cars, even for a plurality of elevators which are provided in the same hoistway and which can travel vertically and horizontally.SOLUTION: In a collision avoidance method of elevator cars, in order to solve the problem, based on distance information detected by a distance detector provided in an elevator car, a distance between an elevator car which a person is going to ride (own car) and an elevator car before the own car (other car) is acquired by a distance information calculation part of a control panel provided at the car, a distance with the other car one cycle before which is stored in a storage part of the control panel and a distance between the other car and the own car acquired by the distance information calculation part is compared by a comparison part, and based on the comparison result, a speed command is generated by acquiring a speed difference between the own car and the other car in a control calculation part, and the speed command is outputted to a command output part of the control panel according to the behavior of the other car. 【課題】同一昇降路内に複数設けられた縦横に走行可能なエレベータであっても、かご同士の衝突回避ができることは勿論、乗員の乗り心地を改善すること。【解決手段】本発明のエレベータのかご衝突回避方法は、上記課題を解決するために、エレベータのかごに設けられた距離検出器で検出した距離情報を基に、かごに設けた制御盤の距離情報演算部で、自分が乗ろうとしているエレベータのかご(自かご)と前記自かごの前のエレベータのかご(他かご)とのかご間距離を求め、制御盤の記憶部に記憶されている1周期前の他かごとの距離と距離情報演算部で求めた他かごと自かごとのかご間距離を比較部で比較し、この比較結果に基づいて制御演算部で他かごと自かごとの速度差を求めて速度指令を生成し、制御盤の指令出力部に他かごの挙動に応じた速度指令を出力することで、かごの動力若しくは動力源を制御してかごの衝突を回避することを特徴とする。【選択図】図3
