PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an erroneous determination by improving the accuracy of detecting the collision of a pedestrian.SOLUTION: In the case of a pedestrian H colliding a front part of a vehicle, impact force by the collision is applied to a front cushion member 36 diagonally downward, and rearward of the vehicle, via a bumper cover 12. The front cushion member 36 is shifted rearward of the vehicle along the inclination of a first joint surface 38 from a first normal position. The shift of the front cushion member 36 causes a pressure tube 22 to be compressed by a first rear wall 3402 and a second front wall 3604 so that a pressure change in the pressure tube 22 is detected by a pressure detector 24. In a case where an on-road structural object M collides with a front part of the vehicle, impact force is applied in a direction of joining the first joint surface 38 of a rear cushion member 34 and the first joint surface 38 of the front cushion member 36, that is, in the direction of the front cushion member 36 crossing the first joint surface 38, and therefore, a shift of the front cushion member 36 rearward of the vehicle is limited, causing no compression of the pressure tube 22.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
【課題】歩行者衝突の検出精度を向上して誤判定を抑制する。【解決手段】歩行者Hが車両前部に衝突した場合、バンパーカバー12を介してその衝撃力が、前緩衝部材36に対して車両後方斜め下方へ向かって作用する。前緩衝部材36が第1の正規位置から第1合わせ面38の傾斜に沿って車両後方に変位する。前緩衝部材36の変位により、第1後壁面3402と第2前壁面3604とによって圧力チューブ22が圧縮され、圧力検出器24により圧力チューブ22の圧力変化が検出される。路上構造物Mが車両前部に衝突した場合、衝撃力は、後緩衝部材34の第1合わせ面38と前緩衝部材36の第1合わせ面38とを合わせる方向、すなわち前緩衝部材36が第1合わせ面38と交差する方向に作用するため、前緩衝部材36の車両後方への変位が抑制され、圧力チューブ22は圧縮されない。【選択図】図2
