PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a rotary wing aircraft which can perform a long time flight at a low initial cost and a low maintenance cost without requiring a fly runway.SOLUTION: Provided is a flight mode conversion aircraft in which a rotor, which can perform driving and automatic changeover of an electric motor, is mounted on a double freedom gimbal base held on an airframe, and which drives and controls the whole of these components while inclining the whole in an optional direction, and which flies as an electric helicopter and flies as a gyroscope by an internal combustion engine and a propeller which are separately provided on said aircraft. Or, provided is a series hybrid helicopter in which an engine and an electric generator are mounted and which supplies electric power to a similar rotor driving and controlling device, or means such as an electric helicopter, for example, a model plane of small power consumption.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
