PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire evaluation method capable of easily and quantitatively grasping the contour of a carcass 12.SOLUTION: A pneumatic tire evaluation method includes: a step in which after identifying, with respect to the contour of a carcass 12, a position B0 intersecting with an equatorial plane, a position B1 where the contour is separated from a belt, and a position B2 where the contour has the maximum width in an axial direction, and setting a plurality of points by setting the position B1 as a starting point PT0 and the position B0 as an ending point PTE, in a portion from the position B0 to the position B1, an arc ATn having its center on an equatorial plane, and passing through the point PTE and an n-th point PTn from the point PT0 is created, and a distance dispersion DTn from the arc ATn to the contour is calculated; and a step in which the creation of the arc ATn and the calculation of the dispersion DTn are sequentially performed with respect to each point from the point PT0 to the point PTn, and a point PTi and an arc ATi where the dispersion DTn shows the minimum are identified.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
【課題】カーカス12の輪郭を簡便にかつ定量的に把握できる評価方法の提供。【解決手段】この評価方法は、カーカス12の輪郭に対して、赤道面と交差する位置B0、輪郭がベルトから離れる位置B1、及び輪郭が軸方向において最大の幅を示す位置B2を特定し、位置B0から位置B1までの部分において、位置B1をスタート地点PT0とし、位置B0をエンド地点PTEとする、複数の地点を設定した後、赤道面上に中心を有し、地点PTEと、地点PT0からn番目の地点PTnとを通る円弧ATnが作成され、この円弧ATnから輪郭までの距離の分散DTnが算出される工程、円弧ATnの作成及び分散DTnの算出が、地点PT0から地点PTnまでの各地点に対して順次行われ、この分散DTnが最小を示す、地点PTi及び円弧ATiが特定される工程を含む。【選択図】図2
