PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a railway control system which can detect a position of a train without using a track circuit without causing a great cost increase, and has high resistance against electromagnetic noise.SOLUTION: A railroad crossing control system includes an optical cable (11) laid along a railway track (12), light detection means (21) which detects scattered light in a light source that is connected to the optical cable and emits a laser beam to a core of the optical cable, and in the core, a frequency analysis part (22) which frequency-analyzes an optical signal detected by a photodetector, and control means (30) which detects presence of an object based on a signal from the frequency analysis part, where the optical cable is disposed in a region intended to detect presence of the object in the railway track so that a multiple loop surrounding the object is formed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
