PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering mechanism for railway vehicles which can prevent malfunctions such as reverse steering or straight steering in a curve section with a simple structure.SOLUTION: A steering mechanism which makes a back and forth pair of truck frame, that is provided in a body of a railway vehicle, turn around a vertical axis, comprising a velocity sensor which is mounted to the railway vehicle, a yaw angular velocity sensor which is mounted to each of the railway vehicle and the pair of the truck frame, and control means which controls the steering mechanism according to signals from the velocity sensor and the yaw angular velocity sensor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
