To provide a temporary lifting speed measuring apparatus capable of appropriately measuring the lifting speed of an elevator with a simple configuration.SOLUTION: A temporary lifting speed measuring apparatus 30 temporarily provided on an elevator 100 provided with a car 11, a guide rail 13, and a guide roller 16 that is rotatably attached to the lower side of the car 11 and that rotates in contact with the guide rail 13 is provided with: a mark that is temporarily provided on the guide roller 16; and a pulse detector that detects an optical pulse generated for each passage of the mark through a front following rotation of the guide roller 16, and characterized in that the peripheral speed of the guide roller 16 is calculated on the basis of a time interval between the optical pulses detected by the pulse detector, and the calculated peripheral speed is set as the lifting speed of the elevator 100.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
