To provide a method for manufacturing a vehicle interior member in which the quality of the vehicle interior member is improved.SOLUTION: A base material 12 formed in a three-dimensional shape is set in a first die 32. A skin member 14 having a stitch pattern formed by sewing with a thread along a step shape portion 18 formed at the time of forming a three-dimensional shape corresponding to the base material 12 is set on a second die 34. Locking means 44 provided in the second die 34 is fitted into a recess formed by the step shape portion 18 of the skin material 14 to position the skin material 14 to the second die 34, and the first die 32 and the second die 34 are closed to press-fit the base material 12 and the skin material 14 to produce a vehicle interior member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
