To provide an electric booster that suppresses an increase in ineffective depressing force while making a difference between depressing force at the initial stage of a brake pedal depressing operation and depressing force at the initial stage of a return operation.SOLUTION: In depressing force at the initial stage of a brake pedal depressing operation, a load required to rotate a nut member 52 is added to a set load of a helical compression spring 53. In depressing force at the initial stage of a brake pedal return operation, the load required to rotate the nut member 52 is subtracted from the set load of the helical compression spring 53.
