To provide a highly reliable rain sensor.SOLUTION: A rain sensor 1 includes: a light reception quantity determination unit 6a for outputting a different detection result when raindrops are attached to or not attached to a windshield 11 of a vehicle; a temperature and humidity sensor 5 for detecting temperature and humidity inside a cabin of a vehicle; a non-contact temperature sensor 4 for detecting temperature of the windshield 11 by non-contact; a fog detection unit 6b for detecting the fact that fog is currently generated or there is a high possibility of generation of fog on the windshield 11 on an inner side of the cabin on the basis of detection signals of the temperature and humidity sensor 5 and the non-contact temperature sensor 4; and a raindrop determination unit 6d for determining whether raindrops are attached to the windshield 11 on the basis of a detection result in the light reception quantity determination unit 6a and a detection result in the fog detection unit 6b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
