To quickly resume operation of an elevator that is stopped by occurrence of shaking and reduce the burden of a professional engineer.SOLUTION: An elevator 100 includes an earthquake sensor 2 for sensing that the magnitude of shaking generated in itself is equal to or more than a set value set for prohibiting the execution of automatic diagnostic temporary restoration operation, a detection unit 101 detecting an event other than the magnitude of shaking that might adversely affect on a damage degree of the elevator caused by the occurrence of shaking, and a diagnostic operation control unit 131 allowing the execution of the automatic diagnostic temporary restoration operation when the detection result obtained by the detection unit 101 satisfies a predetermined condition even if the earthquake sensor 2 senses the shaking equal to or more than the set value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
