To remove foreign matters on a power transmission unit while suppressing enlargement of a non-contact power transmission device.SOLUTION: A power transmission device comprises a power transmission unit having a power transmission coil configured to transmit power in a non-contact manner by generating a magnetic field by receiving an alternating current, and a power supply ECU that is configured to be switchable between an AC power transmission mode (a first mode) for transmitting power by flowing AC in a power transmission coil and a DC heat generation mode for flowing DC in the power transmission coil to generate heat. When a foreign matter is detected on an upper face of the power transmission unit, the power supply ECU switches from the AC power transmission mode to the DC heat generation mode, to heat an upper face of the power transmission unit by using the power transmission coil as an electric heater with no power transmission from the power transmission coil.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
