To prepare for a succeeding start of an internal combustion engine while suppressing the reverse rotation of the internal combustion engine after a finish of operation stop processing.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine comprises a variable valve timing mechanism which can change the opening/closing timing of an intake valve. Then, during the execution of the operation stop processing of the internal combustion engine, prescribed timing at which the opening/closing timing of the intake valve is advanced more than the most retardant angle is maintained. By this constitution, the reverse rotation of the internal combustion engine after a finish of the operation stop processing can be suppressed. Also, the opening/closing timing is set at the most retardant timing on and after the finish of the operation stop processing. By this constitution, a succeeding start of the internal combustion engine can be prepared for.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】運転停止処理を完了した後に内燃機関が逆回転するのを抑止しつつ次回の内燃機関の始動に備える。【解決手段】内燃機関装置は、吸気バルブの開閉タイミングを変更可能な可変バルブタイミング機構を備える。そして、内燃機関の運転停止処理を実行している最中は吸気バルブの開閉タイミングが最遅角より進角した所定タイミングを維持する。これにより、運転停止処理を完了した後に内燃機関が逆回転するのを抑止することができる。また、運転停止処理が終了した以降に開閉タイミングを最遅角したタイミングにする。これにより、次回の内燃機関の始動に備えることができる。【選択図】図3
