To provide a sound absorption material which can enhance sound absorption effect in a low frequency range to a middle frequency range without increasing thickness of the sound absorption material.SOLUTION: The sound absorption material is substantially consisting of an urethane foam 1 and fine particles 2 contained in the urethane foam 1. An average cell diameter a (μm) of the urethane foam 1 and an average particle diameter b (μm) of the fine particles 2 satisfy relations shown in the following formulas (1) and (2), a part or all of the foam cell of the urethane foam 1 has fine particles 2 so as to form a bell-shaped structure, and the air flow resistance value of the sound absorption material is between 30000 and 100000 N s/m. b/a=0.17 to 0.38 ...(1), b≥100 ...(2)SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
