To provide a shock absorption member that can obtain preferable shock absorption property without causing brittle fracture when using a fibroin fiber.SOLUTION: A shock absorption member includes: a rod-like shock absorption substrate; a reinforcement member wound around the shock absorption substrate and made of a fiber-reinforced composite material containing a fibroin fiber; and an interposition member disposed between the shock absorption substrate and the reinforcement member to bring a part or all of the reinforcement member into non-contact with the shock absorption substrate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
