To provide a test method that can accurately recreate rib tear generated in a shoulder rib of a tire and is suitable for evaluating durability to the generation of the rib tear.SOLUTION: A test method for a tire equipped with a tread having a plurality of ribs extended in a circumferential direction and arranged in parallel in a shaft direction includes a main processing step in which a tire assembly having the tire assembled into a rim is attached to a test device which has a reference surface and a flat upper surface and is equipped with a protrusion jig erected on the reference surface and which is configured so that the tire assembly is moved down and therefore the tread of the tire is pressed against the upper surface of the protrusion jig, and only the shoulder rib that the tread of the tire has is pressed against the upper surface of the protrusion jig. The upper surface of the protrusion jig is an inclined surface inclined with respect to the reference surface so as to get lower in height from outside in the shaft direction of the tire toward inside in the shaft direction of the tire.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】タイヤのショルダーリブに生じるリブティアを精度良く再現でき、このリブティアの発生に対する耐久性を評価するのに適した試験方法を提供すること。【解決手段】このタイヤの試験方法は、周方向に延在し、軸方向に並列された複数のリブを有するトレッドを備えたタイヤの試験方法であって、上記タイヤがリムに組み込まれたタイヤ組立体を、基準面と、平坦な上面を有し、上記基準面上に立設された突起治具とを備え、上記タイヤ組立体を下降させて上記タイヤのトレッドが上記突起治具の上面に押し付けられるように構成された試験装置に取付け、上記タイヤのトレッドが有するショルダーリブのみを上記突起治具の上面に押し付ける本処理工程を有し、上記突起治具の上面は、上記タイヤの軸方向外側から軸方向内側に向かって高さが低くなるように上記基準面に対して傾斜した傾斜面である。【選択図】図2
