To compensate component tolerance in an electromagnetic valve so as to surely exhibit a desired function of the electromagnetic valve irrespective of the component tolerance.SOLUTION: There are provided a control device (24) and a method for actuating at least one electromagnetic valve (14) of a vehicle brake system by switching an electromagnetic valve (14) in an initial first switch state from the first switch state to a second switch state not equal to the first switch state due to an increase or a decrease of current intensity (I) of current passing through at least one magnetic coil of the electromagnetic valve (14), in which while the current intensity (I) of the current passing through at least one magnetic coil of the electromagnetic valve (14) is increased or decreased, the current intensity (I) is increased or decreased with a constant or variable gradient in which a value during a shift time interval is 0.05 ampere per 1 second to 5 ampere per 1 second during at least 20 milliseconds of the shift time interval.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1Aa
