To provide a power source system for an electric rolling stock of an own-regeneration type that enables the stock to run in both sections of an electrified section and a non-electrified section and does not depend on regeneration to an aerial line.SOLUTION: A power source system PS1 for an electric rolling stock, in which main conversion circuits TCA and TCB for supplying electric power for driving a main electric motor M and an auxiliary machine circuit XMC related to an auxiliary machinery are connected to a DC power line to which collected power by a pantograph PT is supplied via a main opening/closing device SWM, comprises: a diode D1 provided between the main opening/closing device SWM and the DC power line; a short-circuit opening/closing device SWS connected in parallel to the diode D1; first-third opening/closing devices SW1, SW2 and SW3; a charge/discharge voltage conversion circuit PC whose one side (a primary side) is connected to the DC power line through a second opening/closing device SW2; a power storage part BTU which is connected to the other side (a secondary side) of the charge/discharge voltage conversion circuit PC through the third opening/closing device SW3 and is connected to the DC power line through the first opening/closing device SW1; and a control part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
