To provide a hybrid vehicle and a hybrid vehicle control method which enable sufficient braking force to be easily obtained with an engine brake when a vehicle in motion undergoes deceleration.SOLUTION: In a hybrid vehicle, an engine and a MG 1 are mechanically connected to drive wheels through a planetary gear. The planetary gear and a MG 2 are configured to produce resultant force of output from the planetary gear and the MG 2 and transmit the same to the drive wheels. A control device: stops combustion in an engine and executes motoring with the MG 1 so as to produce deceleration torque through the planetary gear when a first condition is satisfied while a vehicle is in motion; and increases a throttle opening to a predetermined first opening or larger and executes the motoring with a WGV opening maintained at a predetermined second opening or less when a second condition is satisfied in addition to the first condition while the vehicle undergoes deceleration with the deceleration torque (YES in S20).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10

    【課題】車両走行中の減速時にエンジンブレーキによって十分な制動力を確保しやすくなるハイブリッド車両、及びハイブリッド車両の制動方法を提供する。【解決手段】ハイブリッド車両において、エンジン及びMG1の各々はプラネタリギヤを介して駆動輪に機械的に連結される。プラネタリギヤ及びMG2は、プラネタリギヤから出力される動力とMG2から出力される動力とが合わさって駆動輪に伝達されるように構成される。制御装置は、車両走行中に第1条件が成立する場合に、エンジンにおける燃焼を停止し、かつ、MG1によってモータリングを実行してプラネタリギヤから減速トルクを出力する。制御装置は、減速トルクによる減速時に第1条件に加えて第2条件が成立する場合(S20にてYES)に、スロットル開度を所定の第1開度以上にするとともにWGV開度を所定の第2開度以下にした状態で、モータリングを実行する。【選択図】図10
