The backlight includes: a light source part including a plurality of light sources 36; and a reflector 40 provided opposing to the light source part. The reflector includes: a plurality of incident openings 46b where light from the plurality of light sources enter; a plurality of emission openings 46a corresponding to the plurality of incident openings; and a plurality of reflection surfaces 48 extending from the plurality of incident openings to the plurality of emission openings.
