To provide a vehicle door lock device capable of preventing or suppressing the opening of a vehicle door when a force causing a relative displacement between a vehicle door and a vehicle body in a vertical direction is applied.SOLUTION: A vehicle door lock device includes a base member 40 having a striker approach groove 41, a latch 51 that can rotate between a latch position and an unlatch position, and a pole 60 that regulates the rotation of the latch 51 from the latch position to the unlatch position. The latch 51 and the pole 60, one above the striker approach groove 41 and the other below the striker approach groove 41, are supported by the base member 40. An engaging part 44, which is provided on an inner peripheral surface of the striker approach groove 41 of the base member 40, regulates the relative displacement of a striker in the direction of exiting the striker approach groove 41 when the striker and the base member 40 are relatively displaced in the vertical direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】車両ドアと車体とに上下方向に相対的に変位するような力が掛かった場合に車両ドアが開くことを防止または抑制できる車両用ドアロック装置を提供する。【解決手段】車両用ドアロック装置は、ストライカ進入溝41を有しているベース部材40と、ラッチ位置とアンラッチ位置とに回転可能なラッチ51と、ラッチ51がラッチ位置からアンラッチ位置へ向けて回転することを規制するポール60と、を有しており、ラッチ51とポール60は一方はストライカ進入溝41の上側において、他方はストライカ進入溝41の下側において、それぞれベース部材40に支持されており、ベース部材40のストライカ進入溝41の内周面には、ストライカとベース部材40とが上下方向に相対変位した場合にストライカがストライカ進入溝41から抜け出る向きへの相対変位を規制する係止部44が設けられている。【選択図】図3
