To upgrade the user's freedom in selecting a follow target in the event that an autonomous mobile type moving object is moved to follow a follow target.SOLUTION: A follow target identification system 1 that identifies a follow target 3 of an autonomous mobile type moving object 2l includes portable information production terminals 17 and 117 that have a wireless communication feature and produce follow target information concerning movement of the follow target 3 in a condition that the information production terminal is disposed in the follow target 3, a communication device 11 that is installed in the moving object 2 and receives the follow target information, which is sent from the information production terminal 17 or 117, through wireless communication with the information production terminal 17 or 117, and a follow controller 16 that is installed in the moving object 2 and determines the position of the follow target 3 on the basis of the follow target information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
