To provide a rubber composition for tires which has practically sufficient steering stability and has enhanced durability by improving rupture characteristics.SOLUTION: The rubber composition for tires is obtained by blending 100 pts.mass of a diene rubber containing 50-100 pts.mass of a natural rubber and/or a synthetic isoprene rubber with: 40-150 pts.mass of a filler comprising carbon black and/or silica; 0.01-2.0 pts.mass of an organic acid cobalt as metallic cobalt; and 0.1-20 pts.mass of a thermoplastic resin obtained by copolymerizing styrene, indene and dicyclopentadiene.SELECTED DRAWING: None
