To provide a dimming system capable of reducing degradation in a response speed and uneven transmittance when used in a vehicle or the like, a vehicle and a drive method of a dimming film.SOLUTION: A dimming system 200 of the present invention includes: a dimming film 1 having a liquid crystal layer 8 in which liquid crystal molecules 8A are disposed, and two planar electrodes 11, 16 disposed opposing to each other and sandwiching the liquid crystal layer 8; and a control unit 140 for applying a drive voltage V1 between the electrodes 11, 16 and controlling the transmittance of the dimming film 1 depending on the value of the drive voltage. Prior to applying the drive voltage, the control unit 140 applies a preliminary voltage V2 lower than the drive voltage between the electrodes 11, 16. With regard to the dimming film 1 by a VA system, the response speed of the transmittance can be reduced by initially applying the preliminary voltage.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
