To provide an intermediate shaft for steering devices which does not require high precision at a coupling part of both shafts, and which is capable of efficiently gaining expansion/contraction stroke at a low cost, and to provide a steering device.SOLUTION: In an intermediate shaft 1 for steering devices, there are concentrically arranged: a first shaft 10 having a first male spline part 11 on an outer peripheral surface; a second shaft 20 having a first female spline part 27 and a second male spline part 29; and a third shaft 40 having a second female spline part 41 on an inner peripheral surface of one section in a shaft direction. The first female spline part 27 is spline-engaged with the first male spline part 11, and the second female spline part 41 is spline-engaged with the second male spline part 29. At one portion on a maximal depth insertion side where an overlapping length in the shaft direction of the second shaft 20 and the third shaft 40 is maximal, of a sliding stroke of the second shaft 20 and the third shaft 40, a press-fitting spline-engagement region is provided that increases a sliding load of the second shaft 20 and the third shaft 40.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
