To provide a vehicle braking energy recovery method and a device that can improve a braking energy recovery rate.SOLUTION: A method includes the steps of: acquiring current positional information on a vehicle; determining a current road situation on the basis of the current positional information on the vehicle; determining a current road situation on the basis of a mapping relation between the road situation and weight; determining a safety interval and safety speed of the vehicle on the basis of the weight; determining target torque on the basis of the safety interval and safety speed of the vehicle; and controlling a motor of the vehicle on the basis of the target torque in order to recover braking energy.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
