To provide an impact absorption member which can make compatible both an improvement in impact absorption performance by a stable progress of buckling, and the reduction in bottomed load.SOLUTION: An impact absorption member 10 has a cylinder shape extending along an axial direction, and alternately has a metal first layer 1 and a metal second layer 2. A material of the first layer has a maximum bend angle acquired by a bend test specified in a VDA standard 238-100 of equal to or smaller than 75 deg. In the second layer, a deformation is not generated as compared with the first layer. It is assumed that a length of the first layer 1 in an axial direction DA is L1, and a length of the second layer 2 in the axial direction DA is L2. It is assumed that an average width of a plane part of the first layer 1 is (Wp1)ave, and an average width of a plane part of the second layer is (Wp2)ave. L1 and L2 satisfy a relational expression of 1/4(Wp1)ave≤L1≤1/2(Wp1)ave, and 1/4(Wp2)ave≤L2≤1/2(Wp2)ave.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】安定的な座屈進行による衝撃吸収性能の向上と、底付き荷重の低減との両立を図ることが可能な衝撃吸収部材を提供する。【解決手段】衝撃吸収部材10は、軸方向に沿って延びた筒形状を有し、金属製の第一層1と、金属製の第二層2とを交互に有し、第一層の材料は、VDA規格238-100に規定される曲げ試験により求められる最大曲げ角度が75deg.以下である。第二層は、第一層よりも荷重による変形が生じない層であり。第一層1の軸方向DAの長さをL1とし、第二層2の軸方向DAの長さをL2とする。また、第一層1の平面部の平均幅を(Wp1)aveとし、第二層の平面部の平均幅を(Wp2)aveとする。L1およびL2が、それぞれ、1/4(Wp1)ave≦L1≦1/2(Wp1)aveおよび1/4(Wp2)ave≦L2≦1/2(Wp2)aveの関係式を満たす。【選択図】図2
