To prevent torque fluctuation of an internal combustion engine when the same is started up from being transmitted to the side of a transmission while curbing an energy loss through slip control when the internal combustion engine is started up during EV travel in a power transmission of a hybrid vehicle mounted with a planetary gear mechanism connecting the internal combustion engine, an electric motor and the transmission.SOLUTION: A power transmission 5 of a hybrid vehicle 1 comprises: planetary gear mechanisms PG1 and PG2 which connect an internal combustion engine 2, an electric motor 3 and a transmission 4; and a brake BR1 which connects and disconnect the internal combustion engine 2 to and from a housing 10. The planetary gear mechanisms have a first rotational element X1, a second rotational element X2, a third rotational element X3 and a fourth rotational element X4. Each of the first rotational element X1, the second rotational element X2 and the third rotational element X3 is connected to either one of the internal combustion engine 2, the electric motor 3 and the transmission 4.
